What to Wear This Spring and Summer
Although there's still quite a bit of snow on the ground here in Central Oregon, Spring 2017 is due to arrive any minute. Is your closet ready? You might find some must-have American made fashions right here.
There are some great 2017 Spring trends, and items you can definitely wear into the summer and year-round, no matter where you live. I love all the stripes (in all different directions), florals, pleats, and asymmetric styles, the blues, yellows, pinks, olive, khaki, reds, and staples like denim and neutrals.
You'll find the latest made in the USA fashion styles below from our own Cinnia Designs, Lulu's, Anthropologie, Nordstrom, Forever 21 and more!
Wearing this bright, sunny yellow color is sure to keep you in a really good mood throughout the day. And it complements so many other colors which makes it super versatile!
Don't let this bodycon tank dress or mini skirt scare you away. Think of them as a first layer. Try pairing with an on-trend kimono or long cardigan, like these:
Yellow and blue go well together: Love this unique asymmetric top!
You can't go wrong with a denim jacket, and lighter denim (aka the 70's) is very hot this season:
Yellow and white, also a good combo: This top has a striped front and plain white back for a different look:
A white denim skirt is a no-brainer - you'll wear it until October (or until Labor Day if you follow that rule. I prefer to follow the weather):
Wear it with this bright yellow flower crop top and blue denim jacket! The larger patterns in this top catch your eye and are popular now too:
Here's a longer version of the white denim skirt, with a little spandex added in for more comfort:
You'll love these yellow rain boots during April showers and sultry summer thunderstorms:
And for the anti-depressant section of the blog, how could you possibly be anything but happy in this smiley face, faux pearl choker? It's a little pricey, but your state of mind is worth it.
The Neutrals - Khaki and Olive
Khaki and olive green (and combined in camouflage) were all over the runways for Spring/Summer 2017. Neutrals are great wardrobe staples to have year-round.
This khaki tan open front cardigan can be worn over shorts, skirts, dresses, or jeans.
Seems like camo is ALWAYS in. Works for me.
This cute camo crop top is also available in a t-shirt.
And a mini skirt, and a dress, and pencil skirt, just because we love it so much.
Pencil skirts can take you from the office to date night with no issues. Here are a couple more khaki and olive solids (also available in mini skirts and dresses).
Here are some cute olive cutoff shorts. Olive green is another one of those colors you can wear with just about anything - white, ivory, khaki, denim, pink, red, black, navy or brown.
Or maybe this asymmetric crop top like the blue and yellow one above - also available in a t-shirt:
I absolutely love this dragonfly pendant on copper with olive green beads!
By the way, did I mention all this stuff is American made? Bonus!
Here's a top full of this season's trends - pleats, pink, olive, AND florals:
And another combination of florals with yellow and olive green:
This olive green shift dress looks cool and comfortable:
Start with a nice pink dress (this shade also available in a t-shirt and crop top):
You could put this breezy, sheer kimono over it:
Bring along this Faith Hope and Love pink tote:
So many florals, so little time. But we have to try.
Flowing light peach floral maxi dress:
A perfectly lovely blue and white flower t-shirt - also a Cinnia design available in a crop top, dress, pencil skirt, and mini skirt:
Navy floral skirt:
Super comfortable blue and aqua dress:
Red floral cap sleeve kimono dress:
How about a pretty floral jumpsuit?

And speaking of red -
Bold with Red
If you want to feel powerful and sexy, just put on your favorite shade of red. Perhaps one of these...
Tiered and ruffled mini dress:
Pleated red skirt:
Bold red and black striped top with asymmetric back (also available in a crop top):
Splash of red fringed kimono:
Last, but not least, because you've seen a bunch here already - stripes. They were all over the runways in all kinds of different patterns, colors and configurations. Here are a few more.
Blue pinstripe tank dress:
Grey stripe off-the-shoulder top:
Ballgame striped t-shirt:
High waist striped flare pants:
Bold multi-color stripe top (also available in a crop top):
Blue stripe crop top (also available as a t-shirt). Wear it with a white or denim jacket, cardigan, shorts, cutoffs, jeans or a skirt:
